Mining Waste Geochemist

Job description

We are seeking an experienced mining waste geochemist, to assist a growing mining focused environmental laboratory with data review, data interpretation and reporting, client support and mentoring of staff. We are based in Blaenavon, South-east Wales in the United Kingdom,

The candidate should be:

Chartered with a geological professional body or mining engineering professional body, preferably with EurGeol certification.Postgraduate degree essential and PhD is desirable in geoscience or a mining engineering related subject Geochemical modelling experience highly desirable with experinence using software such as PhreeqC, MIN3P or similarLaboratory and or field experimental experience is essential

Key benefits of this role:

No international travel expected. But would be encouraged to present and promote the business. As first and foremost a laboratory, we do not undertake site visits and this role is seen as supporting our clients.Salary up to 60k pro-rata dependent on experience. Hybrid working can be accomodated. Part time hours (from 22.5 hours) would be considered

When considereing part time hours, we would stress that the role does require exclusivity due to the sensitivity of the data that we are exposed to and importance of confidentiality with our clients.

Who the role would suit:

The role would ideally suit someone based within commutable distance from Blaenavon in the UK, who has a keen interest in mining waste geochemistry focused testing and analysis. We would welcome someone who has ideas that they would want to develop further. A person who wants to be part of a business where they can broaden the scope of their career and have the possibility to contuinue pursuing research and self study in a world class laboratory environment.
